AI hallucinations
All apps are now in external beta. Todo 0.3.3 is in fact approved by Apple, which is a milestone. I decided to launch all 3 apps at the same time though. Mostly to ensure that the cross functional aspects of the apps are working in beta before any of the apps are released to avoid tricky migration scenarios. The cross app linking was pretty straight forward. I started out simply with just links from a todo to a list or a note. It's quite useful though to be able to link the grocery list to a repeating todo for the weekly grocery shopping.
The cross app subscriptions turned out to be more tricky though. The idea was that you could buy Extra in either app and get the extra features in that particular app. Then the plan was to introduce a My Next: Extra subscription that gave Extra in all apps for a discounted price. Turned out that the AI just hallucinated that this was possible to set up in the app store. It gave very precise instructions on how to set up the subscriptions in Apple Store Connect, only problem was that there was no possibility to share a subscription across several apps. Once I actually read the Apple documentation, it was clear that this can be achieved but it requires a backend server to validate the subscription. Something for the roadmap.
